According to medical advice in a 2008 study in the journal Therapeutics and Clinical Risk Management, a randomised clinical trial showed that CBD was effective in treating difficult-to-manage chronic pain associated with multiple sclerosis.

This is due in large part to the role of the body’s endocannabinoid systems in pain regulation, according to the study. Sativex, a CBD-containing medication, was legalized in Canada to treat multiple sclerosis pain as well as pain related to cancer.
